The Causes of Tinnitus
The cochlea contains a liquid that moves whenever a vibration is sent down the your ear canal. This triggers impulses created by these small hair cells in your cochlea, which passes it on to the small nerves in your ear, which send these vibrations as impulses to your brain; this is how our sense of hearing works when this process is not correct it can cause many conditions one of which is tinnitus.
Things that damage these hair cells are loud noises, Ear infections, Drugs, Stress and blows to the head. These hair cells will also deteriorate as you age. This is why elderly people tend to have worse hearing than a young person for example. There are many causes which are all related to this.
Main Causes Of Tinnitus.
* One cause is lifestyle and stress this includes your general fitness and diet.
* A cause that is not very common is when the tiny bones in your ear tightening suppressing the vibrations that they send to your cochlea.
* Ear infections if not treated can lead to damaged hearing and tinnitus.
* Massive amounts of ear wax built up in your ear can also cause tinnitus.
* Pierced ear drums can also cause tinnitus.
* Serious head trauma.
* Long term drug abuse especially solvent abuse or alcohol.
* Tinnitus can also be caused by thinning of the blood which also causes a high blood pressure which in turn is another known cause of tinnitus.
* The most obvious one is being exposed to many very loud noise
* Certain chemicals or ingredients in everyday food and household items.
These are the most well known causes of tinnitus, It is important that you try to maintain a healthy diet and keep fit. Exercise can help you relax and help take your mind off tinnitus, It will also help you sleep which is one of the main problems that tinnitus suffers.
