Positive Thinking to Alleviate Anxiety

Managing anxiety requires a main attribute to deal with it effectively. The ability to think thought it with a positive mindset.

We have to first be aware that anxiety, fear and worry is creeping in, catch it and then turn it around in our favor.

An example would be you lost out on a job you thought you surely had, and were counting on, and thoughts of devastation are setting in. The key is to catch the devastating thoughts before they begin to do harm, and turn your thoughts around. You would then use positive self talk to manage the anxiety. Saying to yourself something to the effect of “It wasn’t meant to be for me, but I am happy for the person who got the job, and now I surely know that something even better is coming my way.”

The ability to turn negative thought patterns into positives is a learned skill and takes awareness and practice. Begin my practicing with every little thought that you deem a negative thought and before you know it, you will have become an expert at controlling your stress and anxiety, and the rewards of positive thinking will begin to pay dividends in your life.

Staying on top of your thoughts obviously can be a tough thing to do, but if you dedicate 15-20 minutes each day or a couple times per day to meditation, it will help you to get in touch with your thought process. The more you do this, the more your awareness will increase. Start slow if you have to, but get started. It will pay dividends in the long run.
