Dog’s Immune System

A dog’s world is filled with disease causing organisms that must be kept at bay in order for life to exist. Let’s face it as much as we love our pet sometimes they do some pretty germy things such as lapping up anything that might be dropped on that bacteria laden floor. In this informational article titled “Dog’s Immune System” we will explore this amazing and often underrated and unappreciated mechanism along with a few ideas as to how to keep immunity strong.

A dog’s immune system is a system of antibodies, white blood cells, and other substances that resist and eliminate infections and reject foreign proteins. Also, organs such as the thymus gland and bone marrow are home base to the production of white blood cells. Others, which include the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, trap microorganisms and potentially harmful substances while providing a place for immune cells to collect, interact with each other and with foreign substances, and produce that disease fighting response that keeps your dog healthy.
